Legal clerk
If the youth is out of custody and awaiting their first court appearance, the Public Defender legal clerk will send a notification letter to the youth to contact the Public Defender Office and schedule an interview. The clerk can also schedule appointments for the senior juvenile paralegal to interview the youth. The legal clerk prepares the file for the attorney, processes and delivers incoming mail pertaining to the youth’s case to the attorney and opens and closes juvenile case files.
If you need to get in touch with the Public Defender Office’s juvenile legal clerk, you can call this phone number and ask to speak to them. (408) 299-7700
