Programming at Juvenile Hall, the Ranch, or SYTF
If your child has been committed to the Ranch or Secure Youth Treatment Faciliy (SYTF), they will be required to participate in various educational and social-emotional programs. Depending on the youth and their needs, this programming can take different forms and involve different models. Parents, guardians, and other family members may be asked to participate in the programming as well.
If you would like to know the types of programming available to youth in their specific placement, please contact your child’s probation officer or defense attorney for more information. For example, the Probation Department generally contracts with outside providers to deliver programming such as gang intervention, anger management, and counseling.
